Performance

The sensor in this mouse is very responsive and throughout all my tests I found no issues with acceleration or angle snapping. There’s no jitter to worry about either and even when I dialed the DPI up to maximum, I still found the pointer surprisingly easy to control and responsive to very small adjustments. Higher DPI settings aren’t practical for most things, but when you need to make super quick turns while driving vehicles in games like Battlefield, or rapidly scroll across your map in an RTS or MOBA game, you’ll certainly appreciate having these higher settings. At 100 DPI the mouse is painfully slow to move, especially on my 4K monitor. However, if you’re working in Photoshop on a tricky image or trying to line up some sniper headshots, you’ll appreciate being able to keep the pointer extremely steady and smooth.

With or without the weights added to the mouse, it glides very well and regardless of what surface I tried it on. Harder cloth surfaces certainly feel a little more responsive, but if you prefer a thicker and softer surface, the lightweight design of the mouse is still very well suited to them.

The Argon is well suited to claw grip play-styles and the rubber grips on the side make it easy to get a firm grip on the mouse without having to apply too much pressure. The grips also make it easy to use a lift-off technique, which is great for when you’re using low DPI settings and further enhanced by the extremely low lift-off height of the sensor, which is no more than 1mm.

The switches are light and responsive, but not so much that you find the weight of your fingers accidentally triggering them. If you like to fire off rapid clicks, you’ll find that the Argon is swift enough in this respect to keep up with even the fastest fingers of FPS gamers.

There really is little else to say about this mouse’s performance. It’s not packed with a million features, it’s actually pretty simple in terms of button configurations. What we have here is a simple ambidextrous mouse done very well and while it’s a surgical scalpel in terms of gaming performance, it’s also perfectly adept at day-to-day work and browsing the web; a solid all-rounder.
