How Much Does it Cost?
Priced at just £753.12, the Palit GeForce RTX 2080 Gaming Pro OC is one of the more affordable RTX 2080 cards on the market right now. While it’s not the most feature packed, extreme, overclocked, oversized models, it’s still pretty darn competitive when it comes to performance; sometimes, bigger isn’t always better.
Overview
I’ve been a long time fan of Palit, as they always have some great cards in their range for every new generation. Their high-end cooler designs are always impressive, and as you saw today, even when they’re limited to a more compact design, the performance is still very competitive. Some of the RTX cards on the market right now are nothing short of monsters when it comes to size. However, this one is sleek, tidy, and offers the best compatibility for an overclocked card other than the Founders Edition.
Pro OC or JetStream
The price difference between the two cards is about £30-40. That’s not a lot of money overall, but paying it on top of £750? Well, the bills can stack up fast if you keep chasing those extra few FPS. Both cards perform extremely well. If you can afford it, the bigger (literally), faster and slightly quieter Super JetStream is a great card. However, you could save some cash with the Gaming Pro OC, and still have funds left over for a new PC game or two.
Should I Buy One?
When it comes to gaming, the Pro OC is no slouch. While it’s not the fastest RTX 2080 card we’ve ever tested, it’s not the slowest either. There’s nothing wrong with being competitive and not everyone can be the best, right? Of course, I think this is very fairly reflected in the price. It’s not until you’re spending north of £800 that you’ll see much of an improvement in framerates. If you just want a reliable gaming card and a slightly smaller dent in your wallet, this is perfect.
