The new Nvidia graphics card series has been with us a couple of weeks now, but there’s still a great selection of new cards on their way. The latest card to be revealed comes from Palit, which is set to be the manufacturers fastest GTX 980 card yet; even faster than their popular GTX 980 JetStream.
The new card will feature a respectable factory overclock of 1203 MHz and a boost speed of 1304 MHz, 7.20 GHz GDDR5 (effective); this is a nice step up from the 1127, 1216, 7000 MHz of their previous flagship card, the GTX 980 JetStream.
In terms of design, the new card isn’t all that different from the previous model; it features the same PCB and cooler design, but is most likely a range of cherry picked cards that have shown they can handle the higher clocks speeds. It’s likely you could buy a JetStream and clock it to these levels, but paying the extra premium for this card gives you a guarantee on the minimum clock speeds and performance.
No details on price just yet, but we’re guessing it’ll be a little more expensive than their current GTX 980 JetStream.
Thank you Palit for providing us with this information.
