Palit RTX 2080 SUPER GameRock Review

How Much Does It Cost?
Unfortunately, at the time of writing, I couldn’t find up to date pricing information. However, with other RTX SUPER cards costing from £700-800, I would expect the Palit RTX 2080 SUPER GameRock to be around the same, perhaps closer to the £700 side. You can check for up to date pricing here.
Overview
I’m loving the RTX 2080 SUPER graphics cards. The new Palit RTX 2080 Super GameRock offers some pretty strong competition for the other cards we’ve tested today, and I certainly have no complaints when it comes to raw performance. Thrashing the non-SUPER cards, and giving the RTX 2080 Ti something to worry about is pretty impressive. Especially so when you consider how much more expensive the Ti is in comparison.
Gaming
The Nvidia RTX 2080 SUPER Founders Edition put out some superb performance and has an amazing design too. However, Palit has managed to go just that little bit better overall. It’s faster in just about every benchmark but a good margin. Then again, it’s a little more expensive too. However, for 1080p and 1440p high-refresh-rate gaming, it’s going to make easy work of the latest AAA games. Even at 4K, it’ll be hitting that 60FPS mark with ease, even with the graphics dialled up high.
Added Value
The big cooler and backplate design on this card does a great job of keeping things cooling and quiet. Plus, the big VRM setup means the card can handle the power too. It’s overclocked out of the box, but even then, we managed to get 6-8% extra performance out of it once overclocked. It’s a good looking card too, which is always a welcome bonus.
Should I Buy One?
I’ve always loved the Palit range of cards, having owned a couple of SuperJetstream cards back in the day. Albeit, I don’t think they wanted to call their new card the SUPER SuperJetstream to save confusion. GameRock is a good name though, and it comes backed up with a stylish design and big performance; what’s not to love! If the price is right, this may be a big hit for Palit.
