The popular survival game Palworld seems set to make its PlayStation 5 debut, according to a leaked list ahead of this year’s Tokyo Game Show. Palworld, developed by Pocketpair, has previously only been available on Steam and Xbox platforms, leaving many PlayStation fans eager for its arrival. The game’s PS5 listing was discovered by Gematsu (thanks Gamesradar) on a list of games scheduled to appear at the Tokyo Game Show 2024, which was published by Japan’s Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA).
So far, there has been no official word from Pocketpair regarding the PS5 version, although the developer had previously mentioned that discussions were ongoing regarding new platforms. In a previous statement, Pocketpair said they were “still discussing” the possibility of a PlayStation release, leaving a Nintendo Switch version off the table due to technical limitations.
The leak has fueled speculation that an official announcement may be made during or before the event. Despite the absence of any formal confirmation, the game’s listing by the Tokyo Game Show organizer suggests that news about the PlayStation port is imminent. The community manager for Palworld also teased a PS5 release earlier this year, and with the game celebrating its first anniversary soon, the timing seems right for an expansion onto the new platform.
As of now, Palworld has amassed over 25 million players since its early access launch, making it one of the most successful indie titles. With its massive popularity on other platforms, a PS5 version is expected to perform well, further solidifying its place in the gaming world.
