Panacast Wide-Field Camera and Headset Tech @ CES 2016

CES 2016: We’ve seen all kinds of cool tech today, but we really liked what we say from the people at Panacast. Capable of capturing video in 4K via three wide field cameras, using a special and surprisingly compact web cam style camera, the Panacast system can be extremely useful for training and educational services. The user wears a specially modified headset, as modeled about by eTeknix owner Andy. The headset has a built-in set of video glasses, giving an almost VR like experience that allows you to look around the expanded field of view provided by the camera. This could be great for tracking a huge event, allowing the user to monitor and look around a much wider area that would normally be possible, and of course, it can be done remotely with the camera in a different location.
We’re looking forward to seeing how this technology develops, and look forward to bringing you more information as soon as we have it. Stay tuned for updates.
