Panasonic Launches CF-XZ6 Rugged Business-Oriented Hybrid Laptop

Panasonic is announcing the availability of their latest Toughbook CF-XZ6 business hybrid laptop. Since it is under the Toughbook banner, the CF-XZ6 has a ruggedized build. It is able to withstand and continue performing under extreme conditions where average laptops will fail immediately. This includes high temperatures, dust-filled rooms, high-humidity and low temperature environments.
Toughbook CF-XZ6 Features
Compared to the Panasonic Toughbook CF-33, the new CF-XZ6 is even lighter and easier to carry around. It can be used as a laptop or as a tablet, after detaching the keyboard. It also looks a lot sleeker than previous Panasonic Toughbook products. The external enclosure is made of magnesium alloy, which helps keep the weight down to 1.18 kilograms with a keyboard. Unlike other Panasonic Toughbook products however, it is missing the MIL-STD certification and IP rating. According to Panasonic however, it surpassed their internal 76-centimetre free-fall drop and can withstand 100 kilogram pressure.
Inside is a Kaby Lake Intel Core i5-7300U vPro processor with either 4GB, 8GB or 16GB RAM. In terms of storage, users can choose between having a 128GB, 256GB or 512GB SSD. The 12-inch display features a 10-point IPS touchscreen with a 2160 x 1440 resolution. This screen also supports a stylus pen and the edges can act as a scrolling mousepad. In terms of network connectivity, there is a dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 with 4G LTE support. External USB connectivity includes a USB Type-C port, and thre USB 3.0 ports with an SD card slot. Battery life is 6.5 hours for the tablet and 7.5 hours for the keyboard. Both use 4-cell batteries each.

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-XZ6 is available starting July in the UK for 1,539 GBP.
