Video Recording

Recording footage during the day was clear as expected. File sizes weren’t too bad in size and were in TS format. Recording is done in 5 min intervals by default and is done so in a non adjustable 10 mbps bitrate. Once the SD card is filled it will overwrite older data. The user does have the ability to prevent specific videos from being overwritten with two modes; manual save or bump auto save. The bump auto save feature is very nice because it will detect any sort of collision and automatically prevent that footage from being recorded over. For future units though I would recommend Papago! include some sort of EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) to further maximize the quality of the recordings. Please do note that YouTube does in fact compress all video footage so the uploaded quality you see does not represent the actual quality.

Still Shots

This unit can take decent quality images. It will obviously not replace a point and shoot or even most camera phones but it’s good enough quality to be able to document any sort of incidents that may occur. Although low light shots were pixelated, but no more so than an average camera phone would be able to perform under low light conditions.
