Papers Please Confirmed for Mobile Release Next Month!

Originally released back in 2013, ‘Papers Please‘ has undoubtedly become an iconic gaming title. – If you’ve never heard of it, the overall concept is quite straightforward. You’re a border security officer working in what is clearly a representative parody of a former Soviet block country (think something along the lines of East/West Germany). Your job is simple, let in those few who qualify and ensure that those who do not get no further than your kiosk.

For as basic as this sounds though, ‘Papers Please’ is a bloody hard game. Not least in the fact that your failure to correctly fact-check the documents, with increasing (and changing) restrictions, will results in, if not a game over, then your virtual family suffering at the hands of your incompetence.

Why are we telling you all this though? Well, following a Twitter post by ‘@dukope‘ (the developer of the original title), he has confirmed that a mobile port of ‘Papers Please’ is not only on the way but that it’s set for release in just a couple of weeks!

‘Papers Please’ – Heading to a Mobile Device Near You!

Set to release seemingly on both Android and iOS, the ‘Papers Please’ mobile port has been somewhat modified to (hopefully) provide a solid experience on smaller screens. And let me tell you now that this has to have been quite a challenge given how the original PC version of the game, even on a pretty big monitor, can get more than a little muddy with the various documents strewn about and you frantically look to get as many ‘suitable’ people across your virtual border as possible.

With it set to release on August 5th, at the time of writing, no price/s have been confirmed yet. – If you would, however, like to learn more about it in the interim, you can check out the PC version (on Steam) via the link here!

What do you think? – Let us know in the comments – Oh, and GLORY TO ARSTOTZKA!
