Patriot have a reputation for producing high quality products in the gadget and computer technology sectors. Their products don’t just feel good but they perform good as well. There are many portable chargers of this type out there so competition is always tough as buyers will be looking for the best they can afford. At the time of writing the Fuel+ is £59 which I feel is very reasonable for what is on offer backed by a 2 year warranty.

Overview

There are a few things I’d have liked to see on this and I’ve mentioned them below but they’re certainly not deal breakers by any means. The other thing I like about the Fuel+ is that both output ports are located next to each other which is convenient as you can tuck the unit away in a bag or compartment in the car and have the cables not snag on anything, all facing the same way leaving the input power to charge it on the opposite side.

Design and style wise it is clear that Patriot have put some thought into its as it is both stylish and functional. Granted not everyone has a white devices to colour match with but it doesn’t look out of place thanks to a modern look with no nonsense layout of connections, button and logos.

It has been a pleasure testing the Fuel+ both indoors and out. I’ve owned Patriot products in the past and have never had a problem with them, it is because of this that my expectations of the Fuel+ were met. A few things could be changed though and I’m sure Patriot will address these things in time, but as it stands I find the Fuel+ is an excellent product that performs as well as it says on the box without being overly expensive compared to the competition.

Cons:

• No rubber feet on underside
• Not pocket friendly
• Only a 1.5Amp input (newer models state 2.5A)
• Only 1 USB cable included despite dual charging ports
