Patriot Memory has today unveiled their latest SSD harnessing the high speeds of PCIe Gen 5 alongside a rather stylish active cooler designed to keep the SSD running at stable and safe temperatures.
The Viper PV553 is an M.2 SSD leveraging PCIe Gen 5 speeds of up to 12,400 MB/s read and 11,800 MB/s write ensuring fast file transfers for creatives and professionals as well as fast load times for gamers. Alongside its high speeds is a seamless combination between the PCIe gen 5 controller and cutting edge 3D NAND flash as well as built-in data security and error correction capabilities.
The included cooler features an integrated fan pulling in cool air and directing it through the aluminium fins resulting in a 40% reduction in heat. The fins are surrounded in an aluminium alloy shroud featuring the Viper logo which, as a fan of Patriot’s Viper styling, I think looks quite good despite style not really being a requirement for an SSD.
