Cinebench

As we’ve come to expect from the Viper range, the new Black kit performed pretty well. It’s obviously competitive in Cinebench, scoring 1619 at stock, and pushing up to 1631 while overclocked. The kit comfortably hit 3600 MHz without too much tinkering too, showing that those larger heat spreaders are doing a great job.

AIDA64

Read, write and copy performance was nice and swift too, hitting 43022, 43188, and 38347 respectively. That’s right on the money for a memory kit of this speed. Overclocking did see some big improvements though, taking the scores up to 48250, 51001, and 43643.

While the stock latency did seem a little high at 53.1, overclocking to 3600 MHz saw that drop down to a more respectable 50.1ns. So far it seems you would be crazy not to overclock this memory kit.

WPrime

Again, very competitive here, and one of the better scores we’ve seen for a memory kit of this speed.

3DMark Fire Strike

The same is true for 3DMark, with the Viper Black hitting a fantastic 22211, and a nice little boost to 22311 once overclocked.

PCMark 10 Productivity

Finally, in our productivity test, the Viper Black scored one of our highest scores to date at 9773, and while it only boosted to 9777 once overclocked, faster is faster.
