Patriot Viper 16GB 3000MHz RGB White DDR4 Review

A Closer Look
Without a doubt, the Patriot Viper memory looks fantastic. The brilliant white finish certainly isn’t going to go with every chassis and motherboard combination though. However, if you’re building a white themed system I’ll be surprised if you can find a better-looking set of memory. The heat spreaders are quite large too, which means they’ll not only look great but also be functional at shifting heat from the modules.
Of course, the slightly taller design means you’ll need to double check CPU cooler clearance, but you should always do so anyway. Matched up with the black PCB, the white provides an excellent contrast.
There’s some nice shaping too, with all four corners angled and curved, and some nice raised sections, as well as a mirror finish Viper logo in the middle.
The lightbars are massive and surprisingly thick. Of course, that means a greater surface area for the RGB lighting and it’s sure to look stunning when they’re powered up.
There’s the Viper brand in the middle, and as well as secure metal clips holding the light bars firmly in place.
Powered up, the lighting is as bright as one would expect. Of course, they don’t just like up in one colour, but have stunning fade and transition effects that run down the spine of the memory.
The colours are some of the most dazzling and vivid we’ve ever seen on any, and I mean ANY, RGB lighting hardware.
One of the coolest parts, however, is the Viper eyes, which light up beautifully on the side of the heat spreaders.
