Patriot is a leading manufacturer of high-performance memory modules and won a host of industry awards. The company’s stringent selection of premium ICs enables them to offer low voltage kits at good frequencies. Saying that, their range hasn’t been able to compete with the likes of G.Skill which is the preferred choice for professional overclockers and benchmarkers. For example, the G.Skill TridentZ modules have been sold in speeds up to 4266MHz. In response to consumer demand for faster modules, Patriot has been working extraordinarily hard to add higher memory speeds. Today, the company announced both the Viper 4 and Viper Elite will now be available in 3733MHz kits. This is achieved using 1.35V and 17-19-19-39 timings. On another note, the DIMMs can be purchased in 16GB dual-channel kits, although I would like to see some additional options in the future.
Les Henry, Patriot’s VP of Engineering at Patriot said about the unveiling:
“Patriot is very excited to announce its fastest kits yet.”
“Not only were we able to hit 3733MHz, but we were able to do it with higher capacity 16GB kits.”
In terms of pricing, the Patriot Viper 16GB dual-channel kits sporting the new 3733MHz speed start from $159.99 and should be in stores on August 3rd.
