Final Thoughts
Price
Obviously, this is a high-performance and rather feature packed memory kit. Of course, that means it does command a pretty strong price. It’ll set you back around £250 for a 16GB (2 x 8GB) kit like the one we reviewed. If you desire 32GB, then it’ll be twice the price. It’s not cheap, but it’s honestly pretty competitive with similar specification kits on the market.
Overview
As I said at the start of the review, you would have to look pretty darn hard to find a bad memory kit these days. For most system builds, a great looking memory kit with reasonable speeds can be picked up from pretty much any brand. However, if you’re willing to push your budget a little higher, you can get some impressive high-speed kits, more feature-packed RGB lighting, and often a more desirable looking heat spreader design.
Aesthetics
Memory is an integral part of your system’s performance. However, it’s also a key factor in the aesthetics of your build. With so many motherboards and GPUs, and other hardware, all pushing out stunning designs, it would be criminal to stick bare PCB memory DIMMS in most systems. The oversized black aluminium heatsinks on the Viper memory look stunning, even with the lights off.
RGB
Of course, if you’re into your RGB thrills, then this memory has plenty to offer. Not only are the lights vibrant and responsive, they also have five lighting zones for superb transition effects. The biggest features, however, is that they’ll operate with most major manufacturers lighting software, such as MSI, ASUS, Gigabyte, and ASRock.
Performance
We may not have gotten to 4133 MHz, but we were so close it barely mattered. It just goes to show that just because a memory kit is rated at a certain speed, there’s really no guarantee you’ll reach it with your configuration. Again though, we got it to 4000 MHz and I’m very happy with that. Even at our simulated stock settings of 3200 MHz this kit just wanted to fly. The performance is superb and for those building a high-performance gaming system or workstation, you’ll be very happy with what it has to offer.
