Patriot Viper Reveal Storage, Peripherals and More at Computex 2019

Patriot Viper

At Computex, we see some brands who only focus on one aspect of the PC market. However, Patriot and their gaming division Viper Gaming, seem to have a hand in just about everything. First up, we have their new Viper V765 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. It comes with full spectrum RGB lighting, a gorgeous brushed aluminium finish. Plus, thanks to the premium build quality, it’s even IP56 water and dust resistant. This should be hitting the market now, and we’ll have prices for you ASAP.

Storage

Moving onto the storage side of things, we have their latest M.2 drive refreshes. This includes the VIPER RGB VPR100 m.2 PCIe Gen. 3 X4 NVMe SSD with Phison E12 Controller on the left, as well as the RGB variant in the middle. While on the right, we have the more affordable Patriot Scorch m.2 PCIe Gen. 3.0 x 2 with Phison 5008 controller. All the usual stuff, there, but stick around, they have something even better.

2.5″ SSD

Of course, we have their updated range of 2.5″ drives too, The Burst features the Phison S11 controller, while the competitively priced P200 features the SMI 2258XT controller; both should be available at retail now in up to 2TB capacities.

PCIe 4.0

Their new flagship drive getting ready for the upcoming X570 motherboard launch with AMD Ryzen 3rd Gen. This one is an absolute beast, although Viper themselves say they are still fine-tuning the performance. It’ll use the Phison E16 controller, and should be able to deliver read speeds of up to 4800 MB/s and write speeds of up to 4000 MB/s. No word on pricing, other than it’ll “be expensive” but what do you expect for such impressive performance!

Viper V380

Finally, we come back to peripherals. Their new gaming headset has been heavily redesigned. I had issues with their older headset not fitting over my ears properly. Thankfully, they’ve listened to our advice and improved the first and finish of the whole thing. There’s now more powerful 50mm drivers too, as well as an ENC microphone; a big setup up from the last model. It’s very comfortable, sounds fantastic, and should be hitting the market very soon; expect a full review as soon as we have it in the office.
