How Much Does it Cost?
The Patriot Viper V560 12000 DPI Laser Gaming Mouse is available now for just £34.29. That’s insanely good value for money, especially when you consider the level of features on offer here. It’s a cheap mouse, but it indeed doesn’t perform like a cheap mouse, and that’s certainly going to put it on a lot of peoples radar.
Overview
With so many gaming mice on the market, it can be quite challenging to find the right one for you. Often, it comes down to cost, and many will look at their budget, and see how many features they can get in that price range. Price vs Features, the V560 nails it, offering high DPI, a quality sensor, fully programmable buttons, RGB lighting, dual side panels, a weight tuning system, braided cable, and more. I can’t think of a mouse that costs less with these features, and of course, still offers this level of performance.
Customisation
When you buy a mouse, it often is what it is. However, with the dual side panels that can be changed to suit your needs, this mouse can be made to fit your play style better. The weight-tuning system is excellent too, and while I love a heavy mouse for smooth motion and accuracy in Photoshop, dropping the weights out makes it ideal for twitchy FPS titles. I prefer the stock side panel too, but again, everyone’s hand and play style are different, so experiment with both for a few hours.
Build Quality
There are no issues with build quality here. The Viper V560 isn’t a premium grade product, so it’s not as refined as more expensive models, but it’s certainly far better than you would typically find in this price range. Furthermore, the design is excellent, as are the ergonomics, quality of the switches, the braided cable, gold-plated USB header etc. However, I do think the black and red looks a bit cheap, subjective I know, but perhaps another Blackout Edition would be good, Patriot?
Should I Buy One
It’s hard to find a reason not to buy thing mouse. While it’s not perfect, but it does get a heck of a lot right and throws in a huge feature set for very little money. It’s great for those who want to play a wide variety of game types. Of course, if you want lots of customisation, and lots of features, you’ll not find more for less. Easily one of the more competitive products we’ve reviewed from Patriot to date.
