Payday 3’s launch was a major disappointment, marred by a lack of content, tons of unnecessary microtransactions, and server issues that prevented many players from playing the game. Since then the game has been on a steep decline rapidly quickly losing any loyal fans of the franchise that remained after its first week.
Now thanks to the latest DLC for Payday 3 the game has seen a small resurgence with it over quadrupling its players on Steam. Although this is still nothing compared to its launch players and those of Payday 2 this could be a step in the right direction.
Starbreeze has a long road ahead to elevate the game to the ranks of titles like No Man’s Sky or Cyberpunk 2077, which have made remarkable comebacks. But along with the return of some of the players, the devs are already heading in the right direction with a reasonably priced DLC and the game is getting constant updates.
