I know many of you are eagerly anticipating the release of PC Mark 7, and so am I, but the news has come detailing a delay. Due to last minute findings in the QA, the release must be postponed to fix and test them with their partners.
We recieved this, from Futuremark in regards to the delay:
Futuremark benchmarks are developed in cooperation with many of the world’s leading hardware and technology manufacturing companies including AMD, Compal, Dell,Hitachi, HP, Intel, NVIDIA, Samsung, Sandisk, Seagate and Western Digital. These companies help us perfect our benchmarks, running each development buildthrough their expert testing facilities to improve the performance, relevanceand accuracy of the software. This testing has identified an issue that wewould like to fix before release. Fortunately, it looks like a simple matter, but making any changes to the software at this point also necessitates afurther round of testing with our industry partners which takes time.
It is important to stress, that the software is getting this treatment and delay ultimately to help the end-user.
