When it comes to gaming, this laptop has a non-standard resolution compared to what we usually use for gaming testing, and the CPU isn’t one we use on our GPU test bench, so a direct comparison to similar hardware reviews isn’t really possible. However, it does pack a punch!
I ran Forza at 1080P max graphics, with no DLSS or Ray Tracing enabled. A steady 100+ FPS meant silky smooth gaming through.
Interstingly, turning ray tracing to high and using no DLSS, got me basically the same frame rate!
And using DLSS quality, only a few frames difference, so basically, something else is the limiting factor here, likely the CPU, but still 100 FPS is nothing to complain about.
In Tomb Raider, again using 1080p fo rthe base test, it scored 157 FPS with DLSS turned off and using default settings, which is pretty decent too, as this is a pretty demanding game.
Again, DLSS didn’t do much more, just boosting it to 166.
However, if we ditch the Full HD resolution and use the full display resolution of 2560×1600 and max out extrething, with DLSS off, we’re still getting 100 FPS, so it’s clear this laptop can more than keep up with gaming.
As for that 240Hz refresh rate, games like League of Legends, Rocket League, Valorant and other less graphically intensive titles will max that out easily, no problems there. But what about Counter-Strike? That game has a fair few graphics enhancements these days, so I used the High profile (the default one) and boy did this game run smooth!
215 FPS is pretty much constant while playing on dust2, so yeah, can’t complain about that considering it’s running at 2560×1600. However, many CS:GO players will run at lower settings than that so getting to 240Hz won’t be any trouble if you do that.
