When People Take Things Literally, We Get the Severed-Thumbdrive

It isn’t always easy to get potential business contacts attention with a piece of paper, which makes some people take an alternate route to get noticed. Justin Poulsen is a conceptual photographer based in Toronto, Canada, and he took the idea of “thumb drives” very literally.

Poulsen specializes in building physical props for his surreal photos rather than relying on digital tricks and his goal was “allowing potential clients to experience both the tactile and visual quality of his craft”.

To create these unique, and somewhat disgusting thumb drives, Poulsen first created a mold of his thumb before he then embedded the ordinary flash drives into them.

But they looked to blend, so he hand painted the details onto each one of them. The result is almost too good.

We’re pretty sure he managed to grab the attention of anyone who received this digital packed portfolio in creepy wrapping.
