Earlier this week, we reported that Konami was planning to launch a ‘free’ version of PES 2019. A rather tempting proposition given the rumoured about of free content that was going to be provided with it. Sure, it wasn’t going to have all the features of the full game, but enough to tempt the casual into giving it a go.
With the rather poor reception being made to Fifa 19, it was a smart move. Strike while your opposition is weakened!
Well, despite every indication suggesting it was not quite ready for launch, Konami has surprised everyone by just releasing it. Yes, if you check Steam, it’s available to download right now!
Well, you will, of course, have more than a few options to spend money. This is via the ‘myclubs’ game mode. If you’re unfamiliar with the PES series, this is basically their version of Fifa Ultimate Team. If you can get past this little fly in the ointment though, you are given a surprising amount of content.
For example, you get offline exhibition mode which essentially gives you the basic football game. You can’t grumble at that!
We’re reliably informed (via the video above) that this is out right now. So if you were looking to give this a try, you should be able to do so. Admittedly, PES isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but given how poorly Fifa 19 is going down with the fans and critics, it might be the perfect time for a bit of a switch.
