Phanteks Eclipse G500A Mid-Tower Case Review

A Closer Look – Interior

Without a doubt, this is one of the best-looking interiors you’ll find in any PC case. However, I actually think that’s true of most of the Phanteks range, and it’s an area they’re often first to innovate in. There’s a lot of room in here, with huge graphics cards and E-ATX motherboards well supported. there’s a good size cut-out behind the motherboard too, allowing for easier CPU cooler mounting.

There’s a bank of panels providing cable routing options that are fully modular, movable and removable.

A full-size PSU shroud too, which will certainly help smarten up your build. There’s a cut-away so you can view the PSU too, and mounting holes on the top for a vertical GPU arm too.

Towards the front, there’s another panel with cable routing holes for the GPU PSU cables. A larger cut-away towards the front will allow for larger coolers to be mounted in the front of the case.

The G500A is extremely capable when it comes to cooling too. The front panel will support 3 x 120/140mm fans, or 360/420mm radiators.

The top of the case will support 3 x 120/140mm fans or 280/360mm radiators.

And then there’s still room for a cheeky 120/140mm fan or 120mm radiator in the back too.

Behind the motherboard is truly impressive, and easily one of the cleanest setups I’ve ever seen. There are two large covers hiding all the cable gore and keeping things smart.

There’s a set of three removable SSD mounts here too, very handy!

Pop open the covers, and you’ll find some tensioning screws, slacken them off and you can slide those smaller cable routing panels forwards or backwards to give you the correct size routing hole you require.

There are built-in straps here.

And even more of them here, ensuring unruly cables are kept in line.

Below the shroud, there are a lot more storage mounts, with two stackable banks that support both 2.5″ and 3.5″ drives. You can buy additional brackets and actually fit up to 10 x 3.5″ HDD in this case (2 x mounts included), or up to 9x SSDs using the included brackets and mounts.

The included brackets are of such a high quality too, but so is every other aspect of this case. Even the screws come in a lovely little storage box.
