Phanteks EVOLV SHIFT XT PC Case Review

There are a lot of kick-ass PC cases on the market these days, in all shapes and sizes too. However, it’s pretty rare that we see a PC case that can change its size to suit your needs. There have been some like this in the past, but typically, PC cases remain the same size after you buy them. However, the Phanteks Evolv Shift XT Expandable Mini-ITX PC Case can be changed into three different configurations to suit your needs. However, no matter what size you configure it to, it’ll remain a mini-ITX form factor… so what’s the deal here?

We’ll Phanteks are no stranger to extremely high-end and unique PC cases. They’ve often been a leader in innovation and exciting products for the enthusiast part of the market. Of course, this new case is no exception to that fact. In its Compact Configuration, it’s a 13.5L, however, this can be changed to the 15.6L Air Boost Configuration, and then once more to the 17.4L Water-cooling Configuration! That’s almost a 4L change in size, which is pretty significant.

Evolve Shift XT Dimensions

  • 371 x 173 x 211 mm 14.6 x 6.8 x 8.3 in (Compact Configuration)
  • 371 x 173 x 244 mm 14.6 x 6.8 x 9.6 in (Air Boost Configuration)
  • 371 x173 x 272 mm 14.6 x 6.8 x 10.7 in (Water Cooled configuration)

What Phanteks Had to Say

“The Phanteks Evolv Shift XT Expandable Mini-ITX PC Case marries together form and function. The striking black aluminium panel and steel chassis construction alongside the D-RGB infinity effect mirror offer a sleek and modern aesthetic. What’s more, this Mini-ITX PC chassis from Phanteks enables outstanding compatibility for water-cooling thanks to the chassis unique ability to extend in height allowing additional space for a radiator and fans.” – Phanteks
