Display Analysis

Since this monitor features both an expanded colour range and was pre-calibrated by Philips (all of them are, not just my review sample), it’s no surprise that it looks so damn good. Covering 89% of AdobeRGB and 96% of DCI-P3 is very impressive, and of course, sRGB is spot on too.

The display measured in at Gamma 2.3, just ever so slightly off the target of 2.2, but honestly, I thought it looked very good. You can tinker with this in the options, but it doesn’t look like much of an improvement, as it was already extremely close to 2.2 anyway.

A very clean grey ramp too, levelling off from about 25% and hitting around 6400K, which is extremely close to the 6500K setting we are using, and much more accurate than what we usually see in this test.

Anything under 5.0 Delta-E is good, under 3.0 is regarded as excellent and below that, it’s hard for the untrained human eye to detect differences or inaccuracies, but this monitor managed a 1.1 average, with it largely being the black levels that throw it out due to the edge-lit nature of the monitor.
