Philips has announced the release of two new Ultra-Wide monitors with all the brilliant features businesses come to expect from Philips. Featuring a 32:9 ultrawide panel with a built-in KVM switch and fantastic viewing angles on its VA display.

Philips 45B1U6900C and Philips 45B1U6900CH

Down to the fundamentals, these monitors are largely identical but what sets them apart is that they have different additional features. The 45B1U6900CH features a 5 MP Webcam with a noise cancelling mic whilst the other 45B1U6900C doesn’t feature this webcam and instead features an integrated KVM switch which replaces one of 2 USB-C ports allowing the user to seamlessly switch the monitor between two different PCs.

The Display

These Philips Monitors feature a 5120×1440 32:9 display at 75hz and a response time of 4ms. The display features a max brightness of 450 cd/m² with a contrast ratio of 3000:1 as well as being displayHDR 400 certified.

In terms of connectivity, the displays feature two HDMI 2.0 inputs and a single Displayport 1.4. For USB both models feature four downstream USB-A ports, two USB C ports on the 45B1U6900CH model and only one on the 45B1U6900C model which both support display as well as power delivery up to 100W. Also included are Gigabit Ethernet and an audio jack which pairs in with the integrated 5 W speaker pair.

Ergonomics

In terms of Ergonomics The stand for these Philips, monitors are height adjustable up to 150mm and they can be tilted -5/15 degrees and swivelled up to 45 degrees. The display itself is Eyesafe-certified blue light protection and colour accuracy to protect the user’s eyes from long exposure to blue light reducing strain as well as guaranteeing colour integrity.
