Philips Launches 1440p Monitor Paired With an E-Ink Display

Philips has launched their new 24B1D5600, a 1440p monitor with an integrated E-Ink Display.
The Philips 24B1D5600
This new monitor from Philips takes an E-Ink display and integrates it alongside a full 24″ 2560 x 1440 monitor. The E-ink display measures 13.3 inches with a resolution of 1200 x 1600 and is fitted to the right side of the main display and is attached with hinges allowing for it to be angled by up to 45 degrees. It is an interesting idea and I can personally see the use cases when doing lots of reading across various sites. The main 1440p display uses an IPS panel with a 75Hz refresh rate, a maximum brightness of just 250 cd/m² and a colour gamut of 99.8% sRGB.
Additional Features
The primary display features a USB hub which is kitted out with one USB 3.2 Gen 2 / 10 Gbps, USB-C as well as four USB-A. There is also an additional USB-C on the rear of the E-Ink display which is for powering the display separately which could be a minor annoyance for some. Display output can be handled through either the USB-C or the single DisplayPort the display does not feature a HDMI port. Additionally, the display features a 1G RJ45 port and an audio output jack.
Ergonomics
Aside from the obvious ergonomic enhancement, the stand can be fully adjusted with 100mm of height adjustment, -/+45 degrees of swivel and -5/23 degrees of tilt.
Price and Availability
Currently, the Philips 24B1D5600 is available in Asian markets for around $600 USD with no current pricing for Western markets. If you would like to learn more about this monitor you can visit the product page here.
