As I said earlier, this “monitor” came on not one, but TWO pallets. The box is almost 6ft wide, and clocks in at around 50KG. This is a two person job to move it into your house.
The box looks fantastic too, with lots of wonderful colours and a superb image of the monitor right on the front. Plus it says “take console gaming to the next level” and at 55 inches I think we’re going to the next-next.
Open up the box, and you’ll find huge recesses housing all the usual cables and accessories. Oh and I work from home, so you’re damn right Simpsons is on while I play with this unboxing; why wouldn’t you!
In the box, I found this lovely report on my panel. It shows that they’ve physically tested it, given it a 25 point calibration and what settings they used. This is awesome, and we can see that it has a Delta-E significantly below two on most colours and just below 2 for Blue. This is extremely impressive and means colour reproduction is very accurate. For that reason, I will not be doing my own calibration, as this is superior to what my equipment can do.
Looks like I’ll need to enlist some help. I actually tried to lift it on my own… it didn’t work.
In the box, you’ll find a HDMI cable, DisplayPort cable, power lead, and remote. There’s also four huge bolts for fitting a VESA mount.
The foam protection gives the screen a good 6 inches on ALL sides, so it is very well protected.
Remove the plastic blocks on the bottom of the box and you can lift the enormous carboard exterior out of the way.
