I’m a big fan of projectors, having invested in a pretty sweet setup at home a couple of years ago. It’s a great way to transform your living room and make movie nights much more special. This meant tackling the complex task of mounting a pull-down projector screen, and ceiling bracket and installing blackout blinds, but it was worth it. So, with that in mind, I have the new projector from Philips! The Philips NeoPix 750 boasts a range of features to enhance your viewing experience. It offers a true Full HD 1080p resolution for crisp, detailed images, and its LED light source promises vibrant colours and a long lifespan of up to 30,000 hours.

The projector includes keystone correction, 4-corner correction, and digital zoom for flexible setup and image correction. Built-in Wi-Fi allows seamless screen mirroring from your smartphone or other devices, while the integrated media player and Smart OS provide access to a variety of streaming apps and content, making it extremely versatile and easy to set up.

Features

  • Full HD 1080p resolution: Provides sharp, detailed images for an immersive viewing experience.
  • LED light source: Offers vibrant colours and a long lifespan (up to 30,000 hours).
  • Portable design: Compact and lightweight for easy transport.
  • Built-in battery: Allows for wireless use in various locations.
  • Wireless connectivity: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for screen mirroring and audio streaming.

  • Digital zoom: This allows you to adjust the image size without moving the projector.
  • Built-in speaker: Offers convenient audio without the need for external speakers.

Delving into the specifications, the NeoPix 750 has a brightness of up to 700 lumens and a contrast ratio of 3000:1, which should be suitable for light-controlled rooms. It has a throw ratio of 1.65:1, allowing you to achieve a 120-inch image from a distance of approximately 144 inches, so again, well suited to most living spaces or bedrooms without too much compromise. The projector also features manual focus adjustment and a built-in speaker system, reducing the need for external audio equipment for casual viewing, I’ll be connecting through my AV receiver for surround sound, but that obviously won’t be possible for every use case.

While I’m sure many of you would love a 4K projector, this will of course come with a lot of added cost. The Full HD resolution of the NeoPix ensures sharp, detailed images, whether you’re watching movies, playing games, or whatever really, and should be more than enough to make for a great movie night without costing too much.

In terms of connectivity, the NeoPix 750 offers a decent selection of options. It includes an HDMI port for connecting devices like computers, consoles, or media players. Additionally, it has a USB-A port and a USB-C port for connecting external storage devices or other compatible equipment like your phone. Wireless connectivity is provided through Wi-Fi (dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.2, enabling you to stream content wirelessly and connect to external speakers or headphones. It seems well suited to a wide range of home users, so let’s get to testing!
