Today Philips has revealed their new 49B2U5900CH, which is a 48.8″ curved superwide 32:9 display that introduces new innovative features such as the Busylight and tilting earphone hook designed to enhance the workplace.
This monitor is rather large with its 48.8″ display with a 5120×1440 resolution making it the equivalent of having two 27″ 16:9 monitors side by side. It’s ideal for the workspace as it provides an immense amount of screen real estate in one package. It utilises a VA panel with a 178 by 178 degree viewing angle and a 3000:1 contrast ratio providing complete image clarity from any angle. A DisplayHDR 400 certification and a large colour gamut with 1.07 billion colours are included.
The display comes with a variety of features to make it more than just a monitor including its Busylight located at the top of the monitors built 5MP webcam. The Busylight can sync with Microsoft Teams statuses to let colleagues know whether others are on call, the webcam also integrates with Windows Hello for logging in with facial recognition. A built in headset holder is also a good companion to the webcam providing a convenient and sturdy place to place your headphones when not in use.
Other features include an integrated KVM switch allowing users to switch between multiple PCs using one keyboard, mouse and monitor combo. The USB hub also features connectivity for this including USB-C with 100W of power delivery as well as an RJ45 gigabit connection.
For comfort in the workplace, this monitor includes Flicker-free technology as well as a TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe certification. The included stand is also adjustable with 150mm of height adjustment, -/+ 30 degree of swivel and -5/15 degree of tilt.
The Philips 49B2U5900CH monitor will be available for purchase from mid-November and with a MSRP of £949.99.
