Piaggio Create Gita – The Personal Cargo Robot

Ever felt like carrying things is just too much of a burden, and wished you had a little robot buddy behind you lugging all your shopping, walking your dog and delivering parcels for you? Then worry no more because the Gita (pronounced “jee-ta”) is here to save the day!

The rolling robot was created by Piaggio Fast Forward, who are part of the more famous Piaggio Group, creators of the iconic Vespa. It stands just 26″ tall, but this plucky little assistant can hulk around 40 pounds of luggage and move at speed of up to 22 mph. You can set it to follow you as you walk home, or even send it out autonomously.

The Gita will debut on the 2nd of February in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where we expect we’ll get information on prices and release dates. That’s if anyone would actually want to buy one. I can’t help but wonder if something like this is just going to be stupid and expensive when it would likely be cheaper to just get in an Uber with a few shopping bags, rather than have them chase you down the street.

The tech is cool, but would you actually want one? Perhaps in a few more years something like this will be pretty common and we’ll all have one, who knows!

So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
