While most probably planned for a CES presentation, a leaked slideshow has revealed Plantronics’ latest product ahead of schedule; the GameCom 780.
This headset will cover both ears to allow the user to enjoy virtual 7.1 surround sound taken care of by Dolby Headphone and Dolby Pro Logic IIx technologies. Equipped with a 40 mm driver, each can features a sort of rounded quadrilateral shape suspended on hinges in order to provide easier transport when swivelling and folding the headset. The head band is also thickly cushioned for more comfort.
Connecting through USB with a cable long 2 meters, the headset also features a noise-cancelling microphone attached though another hinged system to allow it to fold back up and get out of the way when not needed. Another feature you’ll find on this headset is a dedicated button to turn the surround sound on or off.
Already being revealed unexpectedly, price and availability are out of the question for now.
