Plantronics introduced the GameCom 780 and the Commander gaming headsets with official Valve’ gaming brand badges on the headband for Counter Strike, Team Fortress 2, DOTA 2 and Portal 2 fans. The GameCom 780 costs $79.99 whereas the GameCom Commander costs $299.99. Both headsets come with 7.1 Surround Sound.
The GameCom 780 comes with Dolby and Pro Logic IIx support with 40mm speakers, noise cancelling mics, on-ear volume and mute buttons. This is a USB version.
The Commander on the other hand comes with 3.5mm jacks, with an in-line volume and mute controls,a USB sound card for 7.1 Surround sound, QuickDisconnect adapters for switching between PC, any smartphone and other mobile devices. Plantronics mentions that it comes with “Tournament-ready” noise isolation.
