PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds has set another record. This now now reaching over 3 million concurrent users on Steam. That does not even count the number of Xbox players, but just those playing on the Steam platform. On December 29, the peak is set exactly at 3,106,358 players while on average it boasts over 2 million players. The rest of the top games on Steam are the same familiar bunch. This includes DOTA 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. However, those two games pale in comparison to the sheer number of players on PUBG. In fact even if you add the top 9 games’ peak count, it would not even match the average current player count of PUBG.
Even more surprising is the fact that PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds’ BattlEye security announced on their Twitter feed that the ban count has now reached 1,500,000 users. Most games wish they could have that many users sold, let alone ban. This just goes to show how popular this game really is. Despite the incredible amount of cheaters compared to other games, people still want to play it. Around two months ago, BattlEye claims they ban about 20,000 users a day. Also, the total ban count just amounted to 300,000 over two months ago. That means BattlEye stepped up the security and removed more than three times the amount as before.
