PlayStation 4 Might Not Be Able to Run Assassins Creed Unity at 1080p Resolution

If you were expecting your PlayStation 4 to be able to play every game at 1080p then it looks like your going to be disappointed. Although it’s the native resolution for the PlayStation which was released in Novemeber, it seems that the latest big title to hit the console will only be able to run in 720p HD.
That’s right, Ubisoft is releasing its latest Assassins Creed game to the PlayStation 4. These historical action-adventure video games are very popular and the latest up and coming title , Unity, looks to no different if the hype is to be believed. According to the Sony Entertainment Network website these are the specifications.
1 player
Network Players 2-4
50GB minimum save size
DUALSHOCK®4
Remote Play
720p HD Video Output
Online Play (Optional)
If this is to be believed then 1080p isn’t supported. This seems to be very strange as the previous game in the series, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, runs at full 1080p resolution and Ubisoft has already mentioned that they were looking to achieve 1080p and 60 FPS on both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. The latest release will see a “completely rebuilt” stealth, combat and traversal mechanic so maybe that is what is keeping the resolution and FPS down? This could just be a mistake from Sony however.
The latest Assassins Creed game will be set in Paris with the story linked to the French revolution and is set to be released October 28th.
