PlayStation 4 Outsold Xbox One Again in September

Since the release of the latest generation of consoles, Microsoft has worked extremely hard to close the sales and performance gap between the Xbox One and Sony’s Playstation 4. Yet Sony continues to clean up as the winning streak continued last month based on sales in America.
Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation 4 outsold both the Xbox One and Wii U in September’s total number of sales in America, according to data from industry-tracking firm The NPD Group. It’s even more good news for the PS4 as it has outsold the Xbox One in America every month of 2015 except for April.
Christmas is just around the corner and these sales are only expected to raise as Sony has cut the price of the base model Playstation 4 to $350, this brings the price identical to the Xbox One. Sony’s statement on the matter is as follows:
“As we kick off the holiday season, we would like to take a moment to thank fans for making PlayStation 4 the best-selling console and #1 in software sales in September. PlayStation 4 was the number one console for NBA 2K16, Madden NFL 16, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and FIFA 16. Including the highly successful limited edition console bundle, PS4 also led retail sales for Destiny: The Taken King.”
Looking back in May it was very much the same story when vgchartz reported the total global sales of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PlayStation 4 passed the 23 million mark selling 23.22 million units in its lifetime, as the Xbox One had sold just 12.84 million units.
