Back in September 2022, Xbox announced that Discord, a gaming community and voice communications app, was coming to Xbox consoles making playing with your friends on Xbox from your PC all that much easier, and now PlayStation players can soon also join the party.
Following an announcement from PlayStation, select beta participants will be able to test out Discord voice chat for the PlayStation 5 before it is released fully in the coming months. This is of course good news for those on PlayStation who are forced to use a second device when trying to talk to their friends through Discord.
Alongside Discord integration, the beta also includes support for Variable Refresh rates at 1440p. What a variable refresh rate does is adjust a display’s refresh rate according to the content being displayed which in turn creates much smoother visuals. It must be noted however that this only works with a VRR Compatible display and on games that support VRR.
