With January out of the way, it’s time to take a look at the Playstation and Xbox free games for February. There are a few notable games that would make a nice addition to your collection, with of course some others that will probably be tried and ignored.
First up we have Microsoft’s offerings, which are as follows;
Games to take note of within this short list are obviously Project Cars and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, although it is always worth trying everything they are offering up for free.
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is a 1-4 player Co-op, space themed game, featuring upgradable ships and randomised level layouts, meaning you’ll be exploring new levels every time you play.
Secondly, we have Sony’s lineup;
The notable free game here is LittleBigPlanet 3, the games is massively fun, suitable for a huge range of ages, multiplayer and of course it’s free!
It’s worth noting that Sony’s free games usually start on the first Tuesday of the month, so expect these games to be on offer from the 7th Feb through to the 6th March.
Considering the low-cost for a year subscription to their online services, any freebies on offer throughout the year are always welcomed, but I think Sony and Microsoft need to work with the publishers to offer bigger titles and more often.
Currently, the trend is to offer one solid title and mix it in with a handful of Indy games. Whilst some Indy games are indeed worth having as part of your library, they can start to feel a little too similar to each other.
