PlayStation VR Recognized by Other Consoles and PC

Well, that was quick, but on the other hand, it was bound to happen. People getting their hands on the PlayStation VR are plugging their new VR headset into other devices to see which can recognize it. And the result, it is recognized by almost anything.
There are people who have tried it on their Wii U and Xbox 360 while other people naturally tried to plug it into their PC. Thanks to the use of HDMI, it is easy to try and you don’t need to rewire any connectors and rig up DIY setups. In all these instances, the PlayStation VR worked – at least somewhat.
It is more or less a given that it won’t run in VR mode right away on all those systems, but in each of these instances, it switched to the Cinematic Mode and allowed the VR headset to be used. The really good news here is not as much that this works but rather what that might bring in the future. With this news, modders, crafters, and coders will surely start working on the issue and try to get the VR part working on other systems too, or at least on the PC.
While the PlayStation VR doesn’t measure up to the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift, it could be quite useful for people on a budget and those who are satisfied with what it can do. But more, it could allow people to get just one VR headset and use it across all the various systems that they have.
