ATTO
The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.
Unconditioned
Conditioned
Looking at the drives underlying performance, there is a notable difference to be seen as the NAND performs more read and write cycles over its lifetime. The write performance stays constant at around 688MB/s however the read performance sees a boost of almost 10MB/s after 5TB of data has hit the drive.
Drive Comparison
For the purpose of drive comparison I use the performance figures from both unconditioned and conditioned tests with 0% data fill.
Against any other drive that I have reviewed, we can instantly see the impact that the NGFF design has over traditional SATA III drives. With the M6e not constrained to the 6Gbps pipeline that SATA III has to offer, the Marvell controller is free to push through considerably more data with a direct pipeline straight to the CPU through the PCIe interface.
