PNY GV100, DDR4 Memory and NVMe Storage Revealed

PNY Computex 2018

It’s no secret that PNY has an impressive range of products, and they look set to continue that later into 2018. First up, we have their rather extensive range of new memory products, which they kindly brought to Computex 2018.

Their new Monkey Tail, Elite Edge, and DDM products are for the consumer side. However, their HP side is more on the business and enterprise market. Not the most exciting things I know, but we all rely on them more than we give credit for sometimes.

XLR8

Their gaming focused XLR8 side is what I know many of you love. Not only is it the branding for their GPU hardware, but now their new gaming peripherals too.

The keyboard and mouse look fantastic and offer up all the usual features we’ve come to expect. There’s an aluminium chassis on the keyboard, mechanical switches, RGB lighting, and a detachable wrist rest.

Their mouse looks great too, again featuring RGB lighting, a multi-panel design, programmable buttons, and rather unique design. No details beyond that, unfortunately, but we expect them to hit the market later this year.

XLR8 Memory

From peripherals to GPUs and everything in-between it seems. Their new memory products feature aggressive looking heatsinks and match the design of their other gaming products. No spec cards on speeds, but we expect this is more a branding exercise for now. If Computex tells us anything this year, it’s that everyone is doing their own memory.

For storage, their new M.2 NVMe drives are here too. Their CS2080 is their NVMe solution and the CS900 their standard SSD. Again, more details to follow on these shortly.

Quadro GV100

The monstrous GV100 in the wild. We don’t see many cards of this class, but with 32 GB of HBM2, 5120 CUDA Cores, and a price tag that’s pushing £10,000, this is an impressive bit of hardware. Of course, it’s a stock card, but it is branded PNY.

Prevail Pro

The most impressive product, however, is their P4000 laptop. Equipped with an i7-7700HQ, 512 GB NVMe SSD, and a 2TB HDD, it’s a beast for a mobile workstation. However, with the P4000 8GB GDDR5 card powering the rendering side, it’s hardly going to be cheap.

All these products are pretty much ready for market. It’s a shame there’s no “new” gaming GPU tech here, but until Nvidia flip the switch, we’ll have to keep playing the waiting game.
