Final ThoughtsPortal 2 was a game that got delayed, but still had a huge following including myself, as we waited for the release. When it finally came it was short of disappointment. It offered up exactly what it said it would and didn’t lose anything that we came to love from the first instalment.
The Single Player mode has a great story line and the sarcasm, humour and general wit was at an all time high and really made the game a much more enjoyable experience. The game play itself is still fantastic, much like the first Portal game yet includes some of these new features in terms of gel which will leave you on the same level, bouncing around and zooming off for hours.
Multi Player was “OK” but I feel there could have been more, and when I say more, I mean more levels. It was a great experience but I feel it was over very quickly, though by doing this it does open Valve up (see what i did there?) to produce DLC packs which we are aware is already in the process of so hold tight on that one.
The game isn’t exactly difficult and most users will find it a real pleasure to play, though there may be moments that get you frustrated and annoyed, but this all adds into the fun of Portal as a game and franchise.
The game is a must have for anyone, especially people who have played the first game, though it’s not a necessity to play the first to understand Portal 2, as you are brought up to speed fairly quickly indeed and dumped straight into the thick of it.
Portal 2 is definitely one to add to your collection, as you may complete it and not touch it for 6 months, but when you go back it will feel like a whole new game again.
