Recently, we saw a leak surrounding the performance of the upcoming Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800 GPUS from AMD which has prompted even more leaks surrounding the card with rumoured pricing also being shared.
RX 7700 and RX 7800 Pricing
As shared by TomsHardware, a leak surfaced from All_The_Watts on Twitter which has stated the possible recommended pricing for the RX 7700 and RX 7800. The claim states the the RX 7700 will be priced at $449 while the more powerful RX 7800 will be priced $100 extra at $549. Focusing on the more powerful card and the leaked performance figures, the RX 7800 with its rumoured 18197 Time Spy score looks to be within the ballpark of the RTX 4070 in terms of performance which sits at a 16372 average and could be $50 cheaper at its MSRP. The RX 7800 could be a solid alternative but if history has taught me anything, consumers don’t care much for AMD cards that are cheaper and higher or similar performing than their NVIDIA counterparts. Looking at the RX 7700 which appears to just sit shy of the RTX 4070 average score at 15465 and much higher than the RTX 4060 Ti for an additional $50.
Grain of Salt
Of course, this information can all just be speculation and until we see any official announcement from AMD it should be taken with a grain of salt. When AMD does release these cards it will be interesting to see how they can capitalise off the current negative consumer opinion of NVIDIA at the moment. I do doubt they’ll have much more luck for positivity as their existing cards haven’t exactly been high in consumer opinion either.
