According to TechPowerUp the company POV (Point of View) is planning to release a GTX 550Ti graphics card with 4GB of DDR3 memory. GDDR3 runs at half the speed of GDDR5 so runs at 2133MHz instead of 4000MHz and upwards. The memory bus is also only 128bits so the memory on the card is significantly slower. Apart from that the card is pretty much the same as a reference GTX 550Ti. It features 192 CUDA cores at 900MHz core and 1800MHz shader and has a DVI, VGA and HDMI port. It takes power from a single 6 pin PCI-E power connector and POV says it will cost 113 Euros. But what we want to know is what is the point of a GTX 550Ti with 4GB of RAM?
