PowerColor 6700/XT EEC Listings May Clarify VRAM Questions

When it comes to EEC registrations, it is often very easy to read more into them than is necessary. Put simply, just because a product name is logged with them, it’s never any guarantee that it will ever see the light of day. When it comes to the AMD Radeon RX 6700 and XT graphics cards, however, one question has remained most prominent since the leaks began about them. Namely, exactly how much VRAM they would come with.
Well, following a report via Videocardz, several EEC registrations made by PowerColor have been made and, within them, we may finally have something approaching a firm answer to that question!
PowerColor Radeon RX 6700/XT Graphics Cards
So, what’s the fresh news? Well, it has been rumoured over recent weeks that both the 6700 and XT graphics cards would likely feature 12GB of VRAM. A pretty fair conclusion based on the current configurations of the already released higher-tier Radeon 6000 GPUs. Well, in this latest registration made by PowerColor, while that would appear to be correct for the 6700 XT, the standard 6700 does appear to be coming with 6GB. With the confirmation of a similar registration having already been made by ASUS, it does now appear to be pretty nailed on.
Put simply, the 6700 XT will (probably) have 12GB of VRAM, and the 6700 will come with 6GB!
What Do We Think?
Given that the 6700/XT specifications have yet to be formally confirmed by AMD yet, you do have to still take this news with a grain of salt. Until Dr. Lisa Su is on a stage with one of those GPUs in her hand, it is (frustratingly) still a matter of speculation. With this fresh news, however, it does seem that we may finally have something approaching 90% confirmation of the VRAM configurations. Now, all we have left to debate is just how good they’re going to be. Well, that and how expensive and how easy it will be to actually get hold of one!
