PowerColor’s HD 7970 X2 will be taking the Devil 13 branding and customisations, as detailed here. We have learnt some new details about this upcoming card. The first piece of information suggests the card will utilise the dual HD 7970s at core clock speeds of 1050MHz each, meaning a 125MHz overclock on the reference HD 7970 core clock speed of 925MHz. The next thing, which isn’t really surprising, is that the card will be manufactured in very limited quantities, due to its niche demand and high production costs. PowerColor is targeting late July for the release of this beast.
The all important pricing details are an eye-watering €1200 or $1200 inclusive of taxes for Europe and the USA respectively. Industry rumours suggest the GTX 680 equivalent, the Mars III, will cost a catastrophic $1500-$1600.
