Class Action Lawsuit Brought Against NVIDIA over GTX 970

NVIDIA-GTX970-672x372

A class action lawsuit has been brought against NVIDIA claiming that the company falsely advertised the capabilities of its GeForce GTX 970 graphics card. The GTX 970 was marketed as having 4GB VRAM, but memory allocation problems meant that the card couldn’t access more than 3.5GB at a time.

A class action lawsuit is a type of suit taken on behalf of a group of people who, in this instance, are customers who bought a GTX 970 card. If the suit is successful, anyone who bought a GTX 970 could be set to benefit.

NVIDIA and Gigabyte are named as defendants in the lawsuit, with a judge set to rule whether the suit will go to trial by jury.
