PowerColor, famous for their PCS series graphics cards, have released their latest offering to the market in the form of the Radeon HD 6950 PCS++. The card will feature a nice twist, with a dual BIOS for switching between the 800MHz safe mode or 880MHz.
The card is said to be loosely based on the 6970, hence the high factory overclock among other added benefits. With the possibility of unlocking this cards potential to that of a 6970, it seems to be a winner all round. It features 2GB of GDDR5 memory at a clock speed of 1250MHz running on a standard 256-bit memory interface.
The card features a non-reference based cooler and features 2 92mm fans, a large heatsink and copper heatpipe technology to aid in cooling. The PCB is PowerColor’s own and gives them the flexibility to do a bit more in terms of performance and cooling.
Connection wise, we will see two DVI ports, a HDMI port and two mini DisplayPort’s for all your connectivity needs. For the gamers out there, you will also receive a bundled copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
No pricing or availability as of yet, but we can’t see it being much longer as other manufacturer’s show their non-reference based cards.
