PowerColor Launches Red Devil Radeon RX Vega 56 and 64

The waiting time for AMD fans is long enough, and the custom Radeon RX Vega 56 and RX Vega 64 graphics cards are here. PowerColor‘s offering gets the Red Devil treatment, sporting triple 92mm fan custom cooling. These fans use dual-ball bearings, which last 4x longer and are 20% more efficient than single ball bearing fans. To keep performance as quiet as possible, the fans only operate if the load goes beyond 60 degrees Celcius. Otherwise, it stays at zero RPM. Underneath that active cooling solution are two 8mm and four 6mm nickel-plated coller heatpipes. This allows for better heat dissipation, absorbing as much from the GPU core before dispersing with the fans.

Since this heatsink cooler can be heavy, the Red Devil Radeon RX Vega cards come with an integrated backplate. Unlike other backplates however, this one includes an additional cross bracket for for additional strength. Even the power supply is custom, with a 12-phase power design to keep the RX Vega GPU well-fed, even when overclocking. PowerColor uses DirectFETs for superior power efficiency and thermal performance in comparison to typical MOSFETs. To complete the Red Devil look, each card comes with a red LED light on the side, lighting up the logo on the shroud.

The custom Red Devil Radeon RX Vega 64 comes in out of the box with 1417MHz base clock. This boosts up to 1607MHz and it also has a 945MHz memory clock. The RX Vega 56 version on the other hand runs at 1526MHz base with 800MHz memory clock. Both have a bios switch, for toggling between silent, standard and OC modes.

Pricing and Availability

The Red Devil RX Vega 56 will be available in shops starting second week of December. However, the pricing information is not yet final for that. The RX Vega 64 model however, will be available starting December 1st and it has a retail price of £549 or €559.
