eGPU solutions are not for everyone, as many have a larger ATX system with room for a GPU. However, for notebook/laptop users, the demand for these portable GPU boxes is growing. Think about it, with the use of Type-C ports, you can have that ultraslim and portable laptop to take with you.
However, get home or to the office, plug in the eGPU box and you get all the rendering power you require. It’s a simple solution, but an effective one. All of these new units come equipped with a range of sizes and power capabilities to suit your needs.
They have their own PSU included, and they’re pretty stylish. Some are even available with a PowerColor GPU as an option, although 3rd party GPUs and even Nvidia GPUs will work just fine too!
Of course, PowerColor does make plenty of GPUs too, as they’re an AMD partner brand. Only the smaller cards here will fit most of those eGPU boxes, but again, it’s great to see them expanding on their range.
